Tao YANG/Dual PhD (Tsinghua & UCL)
Associate Professor, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University
Dr. Tao Yang is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, and an Associate Researcher within the Brain-inspired Computing Research Group at the Tsinghua Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology (BNRist). His pioneering work focuses on Spatiotemporal Intelligence, where he has spearheaded landmark initiatives such as the Xiong’an New Area BIM Management Platform, the detailed planning for the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, and the development of Large Language Models (LLMs) for Intelligent Decision-Making in Urban Renewal.
With over 200 published papers and 9 patents, Dr. Yang bridges the gap between theoretical spatial logic and large-scale digital governance. He holds several prestigious leadership roles, including Deputy Director of the Digital Twin and Future City Committee of the China Society for Urban Studies and Vice Editor-in-Chief of Urban Design. His contributions have been recognized with the Natural Resources Science and Technology Award and the National Gold Award for Outstanding Engineering in the GIS Industry.
